I was shocked to hear the sad news of the departure of Tim Hetherington and Chris Hondros, who were mercilessly taken from this world. I was deeply touched by the courage, spirit, vision and determination the two shared. They passed on struggling to reveal the truth about the atrocities committed.
For humanity, they were not just photojournalists. They were the messengers of the messengers sent by God. Their message will be everlasting and we must let our prayers for them soar up to God.
I don’t believe they have gone for good, as their work is still with us for eternity. Sometimes, revealing the truth leads to unnecessary losses of life.
God bless Tim and Chris! Let us remember them and their work for eternity.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
ReplyDeleteAssalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu
Islamic Releif Humanitarian President,
Thank you for keeping me informed as others, we all appreciated the great work you have been blessed with by Allah (T).
It is our understanding that you try successfully, and we should, to move on from just helping Muslims, or being seen that we are only concerned for Muslims. In fact, we must be concerned for every Maqlooq (creature) of Allah (T) as in the Hadeeth, The creatures are the dependents of Allah (T), and the best of these dependents in the eyes of Allah (T) are those who benefit and promote goodness to the rest.
The few lines you wrote about the two brave and good persons who met their final hour during fulfilling their duties as photograph journalists, We wonder how the religious tone, especially Islamically, turned to them. We trust there are many alternative ways not to address this in that way. With the fact they have their faith and we have our faith, and we don’t expect anybody to bless u through their faith believing that we are different from them, with the fact they appreciate what we do, as we appreciate what they do. I trust you may consider that this made some of our scholars and laymen curious about how one like you, in your position can write things like this; in a way this is openly contradicting to our faith.
Jazakum Allahu Khayran, may Allah (T) bless you to promote more and more, the openness of Islam and the goodness of Islam for every human, every creature without necessarily sacrificing or compromising with the principles of faith.
Thank you, Jazakum Allahu Khayran
Wassalaam,
Ps It is great to say 'remember them and their work for eternity' we don't have to say 'God bless Tim and Chris!'
Salam!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your solidarity over the condolences message that was put after the death of the 2 journalists. Thank you very much for having taken the time to read and comment on the blog.
